Background and Credentials
In 1975, a ten-year-old Steve and his family escaped war-torn Cambodia and arrived as refugees to Tracy, California, with no knowledge of the English language. Years later, Steve earned a Biological Sciences bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis, and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Steve has more than 30 years of experience as a Financial Advisor. In 1992, he was recruited by Merrill Lynch while serving on Active Duty. Prior to joining Baird, Steve spent 23 years with Wells Fargo Advisors, where he encouraged an integrated team approach throughout his tenure.
Always striving to enhance his financial expertise, Steve earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation in 2012 and his CERTIFIED PRIVATE WEALTH ADVISOR designation in 2023. His clients appreciate the scope and depth of his understanding, not just of traditional brokerage products, but also legacy and estate investment planning, and insurance.
Steve enjoys spending time with his wife, Kim and their two sons, Jarod and Austin. The entire Heng Family shares a passion for Martial Arts, and they are a black-belt family.
